Résumé
The recovery of the molecular information from aquatic sedimentary archives, called sedimentary ancient DNA (sedaDNA) has shown its potential to reconstruct past changes in aquatic biodiversity caused by natural or human-induced environmental changes (Domaizon et al. 2017, Capo et al. 2021 Quaternary). Among research topics, the sedaDNA approach has been shown to be useful to study (i) the past diversity of lake biota - including micro- and macro- fauna and hydrophytes (ii) the effects of natural and anthropogenic-induced environmental changes (e.g., eutrophication, climate change, invasive species) on biological communities and their evolution (iii) long-term biotic interactions within aquatic food webs and (iv) long-term changes in the functions and metabolism of lake ecosystems. I will present in this seminar the findings of few sedaDNA research works and prospects of applying the sedaDNA approach to aquatic environmental archives.
